The first of a series of CORE breakfasts was delivered by De Thomas and Whare Wano today in Christchurch. The seminar addressed Māori students’ strengths and the common elements within a school’s teaching and learning programme at which they excel.

Beginning with a brief overview of the history of Māori education in New Zealand, the speakers then highlighted why there is urgency for a focus on Māori achievement.

The seminar was incredibly popular with over 100 attendees, and a considerable amount of positive feedback was received following the gathering.

De and Whare will next present their seminar in Dunedin and Hamilton this week, followed by Wellington in August. Places are still available at these breakfasts, if you are interested in attending this breakfast series at one of these locations, please check out our Breakfast seminar list.
