Tasha has made significant contributions as a parent and practitioner in the establishment and maintenance of Iwi Kohanga Reo, Kura Kaupapa Māori, Kura ā-Iwi and Wānanga. Over the last 15 years, Tasha progressively specialised in teaching Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and New Zealand Curriculum NCEA subjects, Wetewete Reo and Mātauranga Māori to Years 9-13 students of Māori-medium Wharekura. Tasha is also a practitioner in adult teaching for weekend wānanga on Te Reo Māori me ngā tikanga, Mātauranga Māori and Iwi & Hāpu research and development.

I am a product of Whakatupuranga Rua Mano, a tribal development; social, educational and cultural resources of local tribes launched by the Raukawa Marae trustees in 1975. Whakatupuranga Rua Mano continues to be nurtured by tribal leaders of the three confederated tribes of Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai, Ngāti Raukawa te au ki te tonga and Ngāti Toarangatira. It’s four main principles; The People are our Wealth; Te Reo Māori is a taonga and we must halt its decline and revive; The Marae is our principal home and we must maintain and respect it; and Tino Rangatiratanga, have long been deep seated into my being since the age of 12 and manifests throughout all aspects of my professional career, Hapū and Iwi initiatives, my whānau as well as personal experiences.
