An opportunity is now available for a facilitator to join our Early Years team. The preferred candidate will have previous experience in facilitating adults in early childhood education. Strength in cultural competence, leadership, curriculum implementation and teaching infants and toddlers is preferred.

 

Key areas of responsibilities include:

  • review and development of early years programmes aligned to Te Whāriki (2017)
  • delivery of the Strengthening Early Learning Opportunities programmes (SELO) in Canterbury, the West Coast and potentially further afield
  • facilitation of effective pedagogical practices with kaiako, services and leaders to improve outcomes for children.
  • using internal evaluation to promote effective curriculum implementation and leadership
  • evaluating practice and reporting on impact and outcomes

 

To be successful in this role you will:

  • demonstrate your commitment to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • be experienced in engaging with Māori and Pasifika
  • demonstrate cultural competence
  • practice relational pedagogy
  • have a deep understanding of curriculum design and implementation (we are seeking strong domain knowledge and understanding of the updated Te Whāriki (2017)
  • be experienced in leading others
  • understand and use internal evaluation to improve practices
  • be experienced in teaching infants and toddlers
  • have experience in facilitating adult learning
  • be a competent user of digital technologies
