Location: Wellington (preferred) Christchurch or Auckland
Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week
Term: Permanent

The purpose of this role is to provide:

  • Thought-leadership in Professional Learning design, curriculum design assessment and evaluation
  • High level consultancy and facilitation services
  • Liaison with key stakeholders and strategic partners including the Ministry of Education

CORE Education is a forward-thinking and values driven organisation and we are seeking a Manager-Professional Learning Services to join our Epic Enterprises Group.  This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your extensive Education sector experience to provide strategic leadership for the visioning and design of CORE’s response to the changing needs of the sector.

You will have proven experience with school improvement science and theory of action models  and have strong research and evaluation skills including data collection, tools, management, analysis and application, with ability to analyse and synthesise of both qualitative and quantitative information.

You will also bring an in-depth understanding of The New Zealand Curriculum and/or Te Marautanga o Aotearoa implementation and assessment tools and practice, and have prior experience in facilitating teacher professional learning.

Our ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling them to provide insight into the development of CORE’s products and services.

Some key areas of responsibilities, experience and qualifications will include:

  • Advanced university degree, preferably with Masters
  • Experience if school/kura leadership
  • Experience in facilitating teacher professional learning
  • An in-depth understanding of The New Zealand Curriculum and/or Te Marautanga o Aotearoa implementation and assessment tools and practice.
  • Significant credibility within the education community
  • Experienced in learning theory and practice and in depth understanding of effective inquiry, teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake project management, monitoring and evaluation
  • Lead evaluation and internal reporting impact of CORE PLS/PLD products and services
  • Cultural competencies for effective teaching of Māori and Pasifika learners,
  • Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
