Ko te pā harakeke
The family
CORE Education is a not-for-profit educational research and development based organisation with an international reputation for support and promotion of the use of new technologies for learning across all education and training sectors.
CORE Education is devoted to improving education, and therefore ensures it is not only at the forefront of educational matters, but leading them.
CORE Education's focus is split into five "stables" of activity. We depict it like this.

These five foundations form the basis of CORE's brands.
The harakeke (flax) speaks of our New Zealand origins and bicultural heritage. The woven harakeke interweaves each stable. We see CORE as being at the core of the weaving process from the raw flax leaves. The harakeke is also a Maori symbol for the greater family, hence the whakatauki (Maori saying) at the head of this page.
CORE is committed to sharing best practice and disseminating research findings.
CORE Education takes its not-for-profit status very seriously. Recently CORE established CORE Foundation, under which it supports both financially and by way of time and expertise. It also is in the process of unveiling its portfolio of awards and grants for the purpose of furthering education in New Zealand.
CORE is involved in a number of international consultancy projects, working with local institutions, state authorities and national Governments in Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, USA and the UK.
CORE took the lead role in the acclaimed Innovation New Zealand Education consortium project, which was built upon CORE’s successful ICT PD cluster model.
CORE Education NZ has a sister relationship with CORE Education UK. Together we are currently working on United Kingdom and European opportunities.
