CORE Director of E-learning, Derek Wenmoth, spoke about the "Future of Education" at the TUANZ Telecommunications Day in Wellington (20 April). Around 250 people from a broad range of telecommunications leaders from both industry and public service sectors attended the event.

Six educators each with a strong existing reputation for innovative practice and leadership in eLearning from around New Zealand have been selected as the inaugural CORE Education Foundation eFellows.The eFellows are:

CORE Education’s Early Years team has expanded to include a group of professional development facilitators from the University of Canterbury. CORE Early Years amalgamates a wealth of prior experience and specialist expertise in facilitation and mentoring within the early childhood sector.

After a period of casual employment Megan Jensen has officially joined the CORE team from her Wairarapa home as an Online Editor, to add strength to CORE’s e-learning online team.  In recognition of our growing role in Online Communities Christina Ward has been promoted to Manager, Online Communities. Christina will continue to manage the NZ Curriculum Project as part of this new role.
Luminaries of New Zealand education posed big challenges for the country’s educators during the recent CORE Education EDtalks Symposium at Te Papa. Titled “Leading Minds/Creating Futures”, the symposium was an opportunity to bring teachers, school and business leaders together for a day of short presentations from prominent educators, new media specialists, futurists, technologists, business leaders, researchers and students.
