CORE Christchurch office now open for the public

The CORE Education office at Natcoll House, 151 Kilmore Street is now open to the  public.

There is one lift working. The other option is to walk up the stairs to the seventh floor!

Message from CORE's General Manager

Dear All,

As you are no doubt aware, a major 7.1 earthquake rocked Christchurch on Saturday 4th September. We are very pleased to say that the CORE Christchurch staff are safe and well, and whilst many have clean-up jobs to tackle at home, as a company, we have come through relatively unscathed. It seems surreal living in a state of emergency at the moment, and I am sure we will all be a lot happier when the aftershocks stop and we can all sleep properly.

Natcoll House, which is where our office is located, has sustained some structural damage and is currently being worked on, and will be assessed tonight as to when it will open. It is likely to be this week though. The CORE Christchurch offices (which is on the 7th floor) appear to be untidier than usual but nothing major seems to have broken (check out our photos on the CORE Ed Facebook page). Our computer systems seem to be working well, but please bear with us whilst we get our admin and accounts systems up and running and our frazzled nerves to settle.

Whilst we have had to postpone the Christchurch breakfast planned for tomorrow, we are very pleased to say that ULearn is still on. Check out the ULearn website for more details as they emerge over the next few days.

We would like to thank everyone from around the world who has sent their best wishes and offers of help—we truly appreciate these kind gestures. In particular we would like to thank our extended CORE whanau—we have been moved to tears by your kind words and deeds and the aroha that we feel from you all. This is a truly amazing company and we are very grateful and very thankful that we are all still around to be part of CORE.

Ali Hughes
General Manager
