CORE Early Years facilitators have begun implementation of the latest Ministry of Education funded professional Development programmes. In programme 1 (the Participation programme) our facilitators are working in a variety of locations across the country including Auckland, Hauraki/Coromandel, Hastings/Flaxmere, Christchurch, Ashburton, Oamaru, Dunedin and Invercargill.

The teachers at Nayland Kindergarten in Nelson used participation in the MoE funded ECE ICT PL programme as a platform to explore children's creativity in the visual arts. Read about the impact they are having in other schooling sectors in the CORE Early Years Blog.
Roll on 2011 and the launch of CORE Education's infant and toddler online space
This is being developed as part of the Ministry of Educations Professional development contract for Early Childhood.
Keep 26-28 April 2011 free. Make your plans to be in Christchurch for the 10th Early Childhood Convention. This promises to be the best Convention ever, with keynote speakers from around the world and Aotearoa/New Zealand.
Our Ulearn Preconference Wiki is the place to go: Teachers who attended the CORE Education Early-Years Ulearn Pre-Conference day have been using the online Wiki resource bank that was created for the day to great effect. The synthesis report from the 3-year ECE ICT programme is a great place to start. lf you think ICT means children sitting alone in front of computers, or computers replacing other forms of play and learning, be prepared to be both surprised and challenged! The report highlights the way e-learning was effective in changing children's learning, teacher practice and relationships with whanau & communities.
