CORE EDtours: Early Years Tours

The Early Years EDtour provides the opportunity for educators to be briefed on the New Zealand early childhood environment, as well as observe teaching and learning in action. Visits to early childhood centres will be specific for the tour focus, and any combination of the following early childhood services will be arranged:

  • Kindergarten
  • Parent-led services
  • Home-based Care
  • Full and sessional early childhood centres
  • Bi-lingual early education services.

CORE Education is able to tailor an itinerary to suit the exact needs of educators according to the educational focus, style of travel, budget and individual requirements of the educator/group.

Who should participate?

Educators in all sectors of the education system including:

  • government officials
  • centre directors
  • senior leaders
  • teachers

Timing:

CORE can offer a range of tours, personalized to your needs, varying in length from two days to one week.

Programmes can be arranged at a time to suit the visiting group.
Tours in February and October can be co-ordinated so that attendees can also arrange to attend one of CORE’s practitioner conferences:

Early Childhood Tour examples:

Previous early childhood tours have included a focus on the following areas, with visits to early childhood centres that see how these have been implemented in practice:

  • Policy, research, pedagogy, curriculum and assessment in early childhood education in New Zealand
  • Strengthening families programme/engaging families,
  • ICT in Education at ECE level
  • Research programme around ECE
  • Developing networks with NZ providers

CORE is also able to assist with personal travel arrangements to enable teachers to spend time experiencing New Zealand and its attractions.
