CORE’s Educator Placement Programmes are designed to broaden the perspectives and experiences of teachers beyond their current educational context through a placement in another educational or business context. The EPP offers more than simply a short-term visit, instead providing teachers with an opportunity to learn how the enterprise operates and gain new experiences that could translate into fresh and innovative approaches to the work they do in their current educational context.
CORE’s Educator Placement Programmes are designed to cater for a wide range of educators, with each placement being tailored to meet the specific needs and interests indicated by the person involved.
The EPP provides valuable opportunities for teachers, school leaders and administrators who wish to experience the unique context of NZ educational and/or business settings.
The EPP is particularly suitable for educators who have received a professional scholarship or support that will help cover the costs associate with participation.
Educator Placements can be arranged to suit the participant, and may vary from 1 week (minimum) to several months or a year. Education-focused placements are best made between February and November to fit within the New Zealand academic year. Placements covering February and October will have the opportunity to attend one of CORE’s professional development conferences (additional cost).
The focus of each EPP will be determined by the participant, or by the agency supporting their participation. The EPP has two options available:
