This seminar will unpack what play-based learning is and why play and playfulness matter in learning now and into the future.
This session will be of interest to teachers and leaders who want to develop or strengthen play-based learning approaches in their settings.
The workshop will explore ideas from the seminar more deeply, including:
Keryn Davis is Design Solutions Champion at CORE Education. Her interests include activating innovation, collaborative practitioner research and change, curriculum design, and children’s thinking and creativity.
Keryn’s most significant research has been the exploration and understanding of children’s working theories, learning dispositions and key competencies, and playification of the curriculum. More recently she has become interested in innovation methodologies. She has collaborated with industry to develop a range of innovation related learning experiences for students, teachers, and those passionate about building new ideas for education, activating change faster.
Keryn's work is split between working with learning communities on a range of Teacher-Led Innovation Fund projects and CORE’s innovation projects.
