As part of the uLearn18 programme, there’s a fully integrated Innovation Symposium (you can choose to attend when breakout bookings open in late August).
By nature, humans are inquisitive and innovative. Curiosity stirs something within us - ka nanawe ake. We begin to search for explanations and new solutions about “why”, “how” or “what if”. In education, we are inspired to leave our world better than we found it - we want to push the boundaries of educational possibility.
The Innovation Symposium is a forum for kaiako, teachers, leaders and researchers to share ways they are testing new ideas, inquiring, and disrupting the status quo. The symposium is made up of a series of studio sessions, designed to create a space where:
The Innovation Symposium brings together passionate people who want to dig deeper into our big educational questions. Think of it as a ‘living, learning exchange’ where we focus on moving inquiry and innovation from the shelves into the everyday life of kura, schools and local communities.
All studio session presentations are peer-reviewed, meaning they have been scrutinised by education and research experts to ensure rigour and relevance. Each session is made up of two or three presentations arranged by theme.
The Innovation Symposium is fully integrated into the conference programme and can be booked as part of delegates' personal breakout selection process. Register for the full uLearn18 conference and attend as many of the studio sessions as you like.
