CORE Education’s He Waka Eke Noa conference due to be held in Rotorua from 14 - 16 July has been suspended.
CORE Education Director Development Nick Billowes said it was too big a risk to proceed with the conference at this stage, given the difficulties and choices schools have to make in regards to PD budgets and the increasing issue when raising sponsorship from the wider business community.
“We sincerely hope that we will be able convene another conference in the future which matches the hopes and expectations from the very successful He Waka Eke Noa conference held in 2009. CORE Education and the organisers would love to build on that and hope to do so in the future.
“If anyone has paid for your registration to the conference, we will of course refund that in full. We are hopeful that suspending at this stage will not create any significant issues for anyone,” he says.
