CORE regards multimedia development as the creative convergence of digital arts and technology for the purposes of communication, interaction, and learning.
Our work in this area incorporates a wide range of digital media, and is designed to enhance learning, and support interactivity and learner control. Our multimedia development team creates products that are appropriate to New Zealand’s diverse educational audiences. We work hard to ensure our digital design fits the pedagogical foundations and conceptual framework required for educational materials. With our partners, we are able to deliver digital design in new media areas such as:
CORE’s video production team has staff located in four of the main centres, and we operate two broadcast quality video production units. The team has been producing video and digital stories since 2007 for the NZ Curriculum Online website, conference conveners, independent website developers and content providers. Since 2009 the video production team has produced over 300 videos for the EDtalks video streaming website, a free database of short video interviews with leading educators, thought leaders and outstanding practitioners.
