Tātai Aho Rau : Pushing the boundaries of educational possibility
INSTEP
In 2006 the New Zealand Ministry of Education established the InService Teacher Education Practices (INSTEP) project, a national research and development programme exploring effective approaches for the professional learning of inservice teacher educators, and developing evidence-based forms for improving inservice teacher education practice.
The CORE Education team within this project focussed their particular research effort on evaluating a range of ‘tools’ and conceptual frameworks for facilitating critical reflection in teachers. Out of this work emerged Davey & Ham’s (2007, 2010 in press) ‘6Ms’ model for mentoring critical reflection and self-study.
