Digital fluency

Enabling future-focused capabilities in kaiako and ākonga through digital technologies

Digital fluency

It has never been more important for people to be able to use, design, and make change for good with digital technologies. These capabilities enable digital fluency, and support future-focused learning. Digital fluency is one of the Ministry of Education’s national priorities for PLD, in both English and Māori medium settings.

Digital fluency combines technical proficiency, digital literacy, and social competence. Ākonga learn to create and communicate effectively in digital spaces, and educators are able to deliberately design pathways that support developing fluency.

Tātai Aho Rau has expert facilitators who can support your learning community to ensure all ākonga become digitally fluent. They are available to work with you to enhance equitable teaching and learning outcomes for all.

We can collaborate with you to:

  • review and advise on your learning approaches, device use, and internet safety systems
  • develop and design future-focused learning experiences within the New Zealand Curriculum and te Marautanga o Aotearoa
  • upskill staff in the three aspects of digital fluency: use, design, and transform
  • enable your ākonga to create and communicate safely and effectively in digital spaces.
