Is it difficult to maintain te reo Māori in your total immersion environment? Do you find that students often use English? What are the obstacles that inhibit the flourishing of te reo Māori in your classroom? This workshop seeks to address common struggles in maintaining te reo Māori in total immersion settings. We will discover ways to encourage the use of te reo Māori and visit a range of strategies to support learning and teaching in Māori medium environments. Drawing on a wide range of experiences from kaiako throughout Aotearoa, Te Turaki Taupā will help to break down barriers to maximise language output and fluency.
