What CORE's Early Years team can do for you...

We are available to provide professional learning through MOE funded early childhood professional development contracts, and customised professional development in your setting.

The Ministry of Education funded Professional Development Participation Programme

The Participation Programme is part of the new suite of Professional Development initiatives that are funded by the Ministry of Education from 2010 -2013.

  • CORE Education early years facilitators are active in the following MOE designated locations throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

Northern Region:
Massey, Tamaki, Henderson & Eden
Central North Island:
Matamata, Te Aroha, Paeroa/Waihi, Thames, Coromandel/Colville, Hastings, Flaxmere, Napier City.
Southern Region:
Hagley/Ferrymead, Burwood Pegasus, Riccarton Wigram, Spreydon Heathcote, Ashburton, Waimate, Oamaru, Wallace, South Dunedin, Invercargill

  • Locations have been determined by the MOE as areas where participation in quality early childhood education is considered to bring the greatest potential benefit (i.e. Māori, Pasifika and children from low socio-economic areas).
  • Professional Development  programmes in these locations will be based on the following focus areas:

-   literacy and numeracy

  •  ‘Valuing identity, culture and language’ will be woven through all of these focus areas.
  • While ECE services will be the main recipients of the Professional Development , this work may also draw in other agencies (schools, family support services) in the community
