Emerging e-Leaders

Inspire e-learning innovation

This programme will empower and equip you to demonstrate leadership in e-learning within your school and community via a collaborative, community-based approach to professional learning. You will gain a deeper understanding of what e-learning is, explore what networked learning is within your school and the importance of teachers modeling Digital Citizenship.

The programme begins Term 2, on Tuesday 21 April 2015, and runs for 18 weeks.

Who is this for

Educators who currently lead, or aspire to lead, e-learning in their school, this programme will provide the deeper understanding of e-learning practice, networking skills, strategies for change management, and the confidence you’ll need to create an effective e-learning action plan.

Format

18-week course divided into four modules (4-5 weeks per module).

5-8 professional learning hours per module, including three hours online facilitation.

Each module will look like this:

 

Week 1 - synchronous online session to explore the module content and discuss the main themes.

Weeks 2-3 - complete a task, supported by online resources and discussions and contributed to by the facilitators.

Week 4-5 - group feedback and reflection via an online conference and completion of the module.

Access to the resources will remain open to participants until the end of the year in which the course is undertaken.

The participants collaborate together throughout the programme.

Modules

What is e-learning - Using the online environment to empower and support your leadership role 

Digital learners - Developing personal dispositions for teachers working with students to model and operate as effective digital citizens

Empowering others - Leading professional learning with your staff or department that actually makes a difference

Leading e-learning - Leading thinking and action using ICTs to support teaching & learning.

Margot brings considerable experience with using online technologies to facilitate and support professional development.

$750 + GST for one person

$1500 +GST for two people

Outcomes

  • Teachers gaining a deeper personal level of awareness and understanding of effective e-learning practice that can be shared back into schools. 
  • Teachers will be more capable participants in professional online communities as e-leaders who can develop networked learning within schools.
  • Teachers will become more connected, confident, and capable e-leaders engaging with other educators.
  • Teachers will develop strategies for change management and e-learning framework resulting in action plans for schools.
  • A model of community practice that can be sustained by these e-leaders between schools into the future
