Virtual Learning Network (VLN)

Printer-friendly versionSend to friend

The Virtual Learning Network (VLN) supports the concept of classrooms without walls, where students and educators have the flexibility to connect with their classes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A rich and diverse range of courses, programmes and activities, from early childhood through to tertiary, are offered by New Zealand based educators.

The VLN site brokers the connections between teachers and learners. It joins clusters, schools, groups and individuals who are learning through online programmes using asynchronous and synchronous technologies for curriculum support. The VLN also provides an online community of practice space where educators can collaborate online and share ideas.

On behalf of the Ministry of Education, CORE Education currently develops and hosts the underlying web infrastructure that supports the Virtual Learning Network Programmes.
