Two Canterbury regional Young Enterprise Scheme students have been invited to attend the FedEx International Trade Challenge Workshop in Auckland after the recent Global Enterprise Challenge.

CORE Education has the regional YES contract in Canterbury and co-ordinator Sonia Eustace was thrilled that Jessica Tierney of Rangiora High and Tomas Scott from St Thomas of Canterbury College were selected along with 10 other students for the Auckland workshop on July 18 & 19.  Six students will be chosen from this workshop to represent New Zealand at the International Trade Competition in Singapore in the week 2 – 8 August.

Because of the calibre of the students Country Manager FedEx NZ and Pacific Islands Mathew Koshy increased the selection for the workshop from 10 students to 12. The students were picked by nominations by their fellow team members, endorsements by their corporate hosts and observations of Young Enterprise Trust staff over the four days of the event.

A team from Indonesia won the Global Enterprise Challenge. To view results and team presentations via “you-tube” visit www.globalenterprisechallenge.org.uk.

Canterbury YES students are now building up to The Palms Shopping Centre Trade Fair on 8 & 9 August.
