The first video conference was a chance for the students and teachers to get to know each other. From Kahutara, the Principal Ms Crawford, Jedd Bartlett from CORE Education, and the 4 student reporters talked to the teachers and students from Innova Primary School. The children shared information, with several Innova Primary students explaining how they had spent the recent Chinese New Year holiday.. |
The second Skype video conference

At the ICTLT2010 conference in Singapore, the students participated in their second video conference. Seven students and a team of Innova Primary School teachers were stationed at the CORE Education stand, and spent 45 minutes in discussion with Maddie, Poppy, Keegan and Thomas from Kautara School. |
| The students shared a lot of information about their cultures - celebrations, languages, and customs. Friday happened to be the birthday of Clare Crawford, the Principal of Kahutara School, and Mr S Iswaran, the Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Education for Singapore joined the students in singing her a birthday song in Chinese, while the Kahutara team sang Tihei Mauri Ora and demonstrated the hongi. |
