DK
DK is the Social Media Manager and works across several communications teams within CORE Education. He also provides social media consultancy on behalf of CORE Education.
DK emigrated from the UK in June 2011, where he was the founding director of the highly successful MediaSnackers. This company aims to inspire people to learn, work, and live differently with social media. It works with a cross-sector group of clients from:
- developing and delivering social media training for teachers, youth services, plus broadcasters
- devising brand-raising strategies for national government departments
- inventing social media marketing tactics for games manufacturers
...through to:
- internal events for telecommunications brands and communication agencies.
DK also created Social Media For Suits, a personalised mentoring programme for CEOs and executives who want to understand and effectively use social media. Focused exclusively on corporate level social media use and exploration of tactics, clients have included CEOs from audience development agencies, a global IT accreditation company, and entrepreneurial promotional brands.
With a professional background in local government, DK was the UK's first Corporate Youth Officer.

His own brand of delivery, deep Welsh tones, ease of being on the big stage, plus detailed knowledge of cross-sector uses of social media means an audience is always educated, entertained and energised.
For a flavour, his latest assignment have included:
- Gates Foundation, Seattle (Jul 2011) presenting to the Educational team the shifts in media landscape, plus a roundtable with senior executives and a half-day workshop.
- National Speakers Association Of New Zealand, Christchurch (Jul 2011) illustrating how social can help with their business development.
- UNICEF (May 2011) delivering a day's social media training to a group of communications officers from 22 different countries across the EMEA in Istanbul, Turkey.

"I believe in making people think and/or smile.
Been running my own business since 2004, and am the type of guy who says stuff like the following and gets goosebumps:
. . .become a bonfire and dare the world to put you out!
And thinks stuff like:
. . .why don’t you ever see, “opinions expressed here do not reflect the views of our employees”, on corporate sites?"
