Over the past 3 years Brett’s key focus has been in establishing relationships with local iwi, whanau and community on the journey together in creating Monrad Intermediate’s Bilingual Unit’s (Tahuna-ā-Rua) localised curriculum.

Brett has been involved in bilingual education settings for the past nine years. His expertise and success in this area has been evidenced in the numerous media reports about the different successes of the bilingual unit, and their contribution to community events in both the Manawatū and wider.

Brett has a vast knowledge, drawn from successful practice, of cultural responsiveness and pedagogy. He is committed to realising Māori potential with a particular focus on Māori children.
