In her role as curriculum coordinator at CORE, Elizabeth manages a range of projects including content development for the Key Competencies site and Middle Schooling section of New Zealand Curriculum Online.

Elizabeth also organises regular CORE Breakfast seminars around the country, bringing teachers together to network and develop their professional knowledge through exposure to a variety of experts in the field of education.

Elizabeth also project manages the BookTalks web site and programme, an alternative method of connecting schools, education centres, and other organisations with New Zealand authors and illustrators using Skype.

Elizabeth has a background in primary teaching, working across all levels both in NZ and the UK. She left teaching to join Learning Media’s international publishing team, spending six years marketing literacy materials and writing teachers’ guides for the US, UK, Asia and Australian markets.

Following this, Elizabeth worked as a project manager on a number of online websites including NZ Curriculum Online. This role included facilitating the Digital Conversations videoconferencing programme for primary and secondary schools, bringing students together to talk to a range of experts.

More recently she has facilitated cluster projects with a range of primary and secondary schools in the Wellington area, working to develop authentic learning contexts within the curriculum.

Elizabeth enjoys the variety of working with a wide range of people and supporting them to connect the dots. She finds facilitating relationships between schools and other sectors rewarding and a wonderful opportunity to contribute positively to the spirit of the new curriculum.
