Justin Roberts
Justin is the Site Manager for Te Marautanga o Aotearoa (TMoA) Online.
Justin has worked in education for five years, predominantly in Māori education. He spent two years at Hato Paora College working in various roles before becoming the Year 9 dean.
In 2005, Justin spent 18 months at Te Kura o Whakarewarewa assisting with the development of a wharekura. Following this position, he undertook the role of secondary school liaison for Waiariki Institute of Technology.
Justin believes iwi, hapu and whānau play a critical role in ensuring our children are given the best opportunities possible to succeed. However this can only happen when iwi are given the opportunity to participate in determining educational destinations. Fortunately in his current role at CORE Education, Justin can work with iwi in forming productive partnerships with other educational organisations to ensure their voice is heard.

“Over the years I have moved through a number of stages of self discovery; the most influential of all being the rediscovery of my culture through education. Education, in the formal sense, has given me the opportunity to further develop myself as a person through the revitalisation of my culture in myself and my family. This has now developed into one of my passions and I am now fortunate enough to be able to combine both my culture and education in a rewarding career. My hope is that through education I can assist others to unearth their own passion.”
