Mary Anne Mills
Mary Anne is the Curriculum Project Leader at CORE Education.
Mary Anne brought her expertise in curriculum design and school review to the CORE Education team in 2008. She leads all curriculum work in schools and other institutions on a range of facilitated professional services and is part of the CORE team developing online tools and modules for school self review and eLearning professional development for teachers.
From 2002 – 2006 Mary Anne worked at the Ministry of Education as project manager for the redevelopment of the draft New Zealand curriculum. She was responsible for liaising with every curriculum area and all the educational professional organisations.
From 2006 – 2008 Mary Anne worked as an education consultant for Educating NZ. During this time she worked extensively in Cambodia on a NZ Aid project on reviewing and developing road safety curriculum. She also worked with the Thailand Ministry of Education in 2008 with a New Zealand team advising Thailand on their curriculum implementation process.
Mary Anne has also held leadership roles in the secondary and tertiary sector - she was a HOD Social Science early in her career and was a lecturer in social sciences and history in the graduate secondary pre-service programme at Wellington College of Education (now Victoria University). She also led the professional studies programme team and was the coordinator of the February intake when she finished in 2002. She has presented at many conferences and seminars.
