A well known figure to the rescue

Douglas Harre

A well known name in educational sectors across the country joined the CORE whanau earlier this year. Douglas Harré will be well known to many with the past roles he has held with the Ministry of Education. “This does not feel like starting a new job for me, as I have worked alongside the CORE team from the very beginning, and have always held them in high regard. This is an exciting time to become a part of their team.”

CORE Whanau Update

Where do we begin? Since January there have been a whole range of staff that have joined the CORE whanau.

We are working hard on getting staff profiles onto the CORE website, so that you can read more details,  but in the meantime a very big (and belated) welcome to:

A new way of thinking

Connected students

CORE Education continues to play a leading role in the delivery of professional learning and development (PLD).

In 2010 the Ministry of Education began the process of transitioning teacher ICT PD model to a regional one, targeting PLD to those schools, leaders and teachers who need it most.

With a strong focus on raising student achievement in literacy and numeracy, the Ministry will meet the needs of schools through customised support, which includes new PLD programmes.

Is your school ready for the future?

Are you connected?

Does your school have a robust, future-proof ICT strategy? Delivering learning outcomes in the future will require the right infrastructure, the right learning environment, and the right pedagogy.

The shake-up that was Term 1

Where has this year gone? We always knew that Term 1 was going to be busy, but the Christchurch earthquake has added a whole new level of complexity for many individuals, and for CORE itself. Apologies that this newsletter is later than planned, but I hope you will understand that we have been a bit preoccupied.
