Californian schools a refreshing eye-opener for CORE Education facilitators

California, United States
18 April 2013

CORE, in association with iEducator, presents an annual EDTour to California to observe and experience examples of teaching and learning for the 21st century, with a special emphasis on mobile technologies.

CORE Blended e-Learning facilitators, Brett Cribb and Tania Coutts, are part of a group of eight educators from New Zealand currently in California for the two week tour.

The group is visiting schools that have made a transition to mobile devices and those looking at 1 to 1 initiatives. It will also look at the requirements to set up and run successful programmes where mobile devices are in use and hear about trends in California that may flow-on and impact the New Zealand education scene. Professional development requirements and its use as a key factor in the initiatives is an important component in the tour programme.

"It is important for our staff to remain at the forefront of the use of mobile devices in education, this tour is one way that we support continuous learning of our staff” says CORE Senior Manager - Products and Services Mary Anne Mills

The tour concludes on 28 April.
