Personal statement

I am a Multidisciplinary Artist who creates multimedia artwork that explores Aotearoa histories while reflecting on identity and whakapapa. Originally from Tūranganui-a-kiwa and now based in Pōneke, I draw inspiration from both locations. My work uses my connections between past, present, and future forward creating narratives through my DNA based soundscape, moving image, and installation. I am a Digital Artist at Tātai Aho Rau Core Education, creating digital content for the Education sector.

I have worked on an installation work for NZ Fringe festival 2022, a video work for Circuit, Mason Screens, and an installation work for Māori Moving Image 2022. My work ‘Whakapapa/Algorithms’ was selected to show at the Beijing International Art Biennale and premiere at the next Oberhausen Film festival.
