Turning figures into a language everyone can learn.
In 2012, Lillian Grace founded Figure.NZ, an online tool that allows people to find and access New Zealand figures or data online, for free.
She comes with a new perspective on data. One where data is a language in which everyone can be fluent. She believes societies and individuals will benefit when any person can use data to inform their thinking and insights without needing intermediaries.
Lillian was an integral part of many groups including the Data Futures Partnership Working Group, and the Open Government Partnership Expert Advisory Panel. She also sat as a board member of Innovation Partnership, and Te Pūnaha Matatini; Centre of Research Excellence. Previously, she worked at The NZ Institute, and the Emmy Award winning, Massive Software.
This year, Lillian has refocused her attention, and is investing more time in Figure.NZ, and a new goal, learning Te Reo Māori.
